Geauga County voters head to the polls on Tuesday, November 3, after early in-person voting ended at 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, according to the Geauga County Board of Elections’ official early voting schedule. Polls across the county will be open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and voters must cast their Election Day ballots at their designated precinct polling place.
The board of elections, at 12611 Ravenwood Drive, Suite 004 in Chardon, was the county’s single early-voting site throughout the early period that began October 6, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting directory and the board’s own published hours. The board’s director is Tyler Plants, according to the board’s official site.
Absentee voters face a hard deadline this year. Under Senate Bill 293, signed by Gov. Mike DeWine in December 2025, most absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by the close of polls at 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted — there is no longer a post-election grace period for most ballots, The Columbus Dispatch reported. The Dispatch’s statewide drop-off list places Geauga County’s return point at the board office on Ravenwood Drive in Chardon.
The Columbus Dispatch also reported that Secretary of State Frank LaRose said on October 27 that it might already be too late to mail a ballot and have it arrive by the Election Day deadline. Geauga voters holding a completed absentee ballot should deliver it in person instead: the League of Women Voters of Geauga notes the board provides a secure, monitored ballot box near the entrance of the Geauga County Office Building.
Election Day voters will need an accepted form of photo identification under Ohio law, and anyone unsure of their polling place can confirm it through the board of elections or the Secretary of State’s voter lookup before Tuesday. The Secretary of State’s official 2026 voting schedule lists polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. statewide, with military and overseas (UOCAVA) ballots accepted by mail through November 7.
This is a local election story for Geauga County’s November 3 ballot, published for county readers on the website. What happens next: polls open at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, and close at 7:30 p.m., when unofficial results reporting begins and the absentee receipt deadline passes.
