Belmont County voters had their final chance to vote early in person on Sunday, Nov. 1, as the early voting period for the Nov. 3 general election closed at the Belmont County Board of Elections in St. Clairsville, according to the board’s published early voting schedule.

Early in-person voting ran Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Board of Elections office, 52180 National Road East in St. Clairsville, the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting directory confirms. No early voting takes place on Monday, Nov. 2 — the next ballots cast in Belmont County will be at precinct polling places on Election Day itself.

In addition to the statewide offices on every Ohio ballot, Belmont County voters are deciding two countywide renewal levies this fall — one for senior services and one for 911 services — according to the Belmont County Board of Elections information reported by Barnesville Area News. Those renewals, together with the statewide races, make up the core of the county’s Nov. 3 ballot.

For voters still holding an absentee ballot, the deadline is firm. Under Ohio’s voting schedule published by the Secretary of State, non-military and non-overseas absentee ballots must be received by the county board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, to be counted. The Secretary of State’s office has advised voters that hand-delivering a ballot to the board of elections is the surest route at this stage.

Absentee ballots may be returned by mail or personally delivered to the county board of elections, according to the Belmont County Board of Elections information reported by Barnesville Area News, but a mailed ballot that arrives after 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 cannot be counted under the current schedule.

Election Day voting in Belmont County runs from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, at each voter’s assigned precinct polling place, per the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Voters who are in line by 7:30 p.m. may cast a ballot.
