CINCINNATI — Seton is still perfect, and Southwest Ohio’s girls volleyball map is redrawn for the regional round. District championships were decided across the Southwest District on Saturday, Oct. 31, in 26 district finals spanning seven divisions, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s recap of the finals.

In Division I, two-time defending state champion Seton improved to 24-0 by sweeping Fairfield 25-10, 25-12, 25-16, the Enquirer reported. Seton’s Greater Catholic League partners also advanced: St. Ursula swept Northmont and Ursuline Academy swept Loveland. Sycamore swept Lakota East and Mason beat Springboro in four sets to carry the Greater Miami Conference into the regionals, and Centerville defeated Milford in four.

The Division I regional semifinals are Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Lakota West, where Seton meets Sycamore and Centerville faces Mason — neither matchup was played in the regular season, according to the Enquirer. In Region 3 at Springfield, Dublin Coffman plays Ursuline Academy and Olentangy Orange meets St. Ursula.

Division II produced three sweeps for Greater Cincinnati schools, the Enquirer reported: Mount Notre Dame beat Troy 25-16, 25-13, 25-14; Harrison beat Anderson 25-20, 25-16, 25-23; and Kings beat Colerain 25-12, 25-13, 25-16. Harrison and Kings, a combined 42-5, meet Thursday, Nov. 5, at Vandalia Butler, while Mount Notre Dame gets a rematch with Anthony Wayne, which swept the Cougars in last season’s state semifinal.

In Division III, McNicholas swept Carroll, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy beat Tippecanoe in four sets, and Ross beat Butler in four, according to the Enquirer. McNicholas — a state runner-up in 2023 and a champion last season in a lower division — meets CHCA on Nov. 4 at Lakota East, following a Ross-Bellbrook match between Southwestern Buckeye League rivals that are both 23-2 and split their regular-season meetings.

Division IV’s top seed, Fenwick, beat Eaton 25-15, 25-15, 25-23 and will face Wyoming on Nov. 5 at Lakota East after Wyoming’s five-set reverse sweep of Benjamin Logan, the Enquirer reported. Taylor survived its own five-set district final against Kenton Ridge and plays Central District champion Johnstown. In Division V, Madeira beat Dayton Christian in four sets, 21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-17, and meets Arcanum on Nov. 5 at Trent Arena in Kettering.

No Southwest Ohio team won a Division VI district title, and no local team played in Division VII, according to the Enquirer. The regional semifinals run Nov. 4-5, with regional championships on Nov. 8 — and for Seton, every match from here is played with an unbeaten season and a third straight state title both still alive.
