Three people were killed and three others were taken to hospitals late Saturday in a head-on crash at Hill Avenue and Wenz Road in south Toledo, according to the Toledo Police Department.

The crash happened shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. WTOL 11 reported the toll citing a Toledo police crash report, and 13abc (WTVG) also reported three dead and three hospitalized citing Toledo police, and the two reports agree on the vehicles involved, the ages of those killed and hurt, and that the investigation is continuing.

According to 13abc, a Dodge Charger driven by Tewan Terry, 19, was traveling east on Hill Avenue and a Chevrolet Blazer driven by Nasir Johnson, 26, was traveling west when the two vehicles collided head-on. WTOL 11 reported the same two vehicles and the same ages for the two drivers, citing the police crash report.

Terry and a 17-year-old passenger in the Charger died at the scene, according to both reports. 13abc identified the 17-year-old as Antonio Adams. Johnson was taken to a hospital and later died, according to both reports. WTOL 11 reported that Johnson was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center. In its earlier Sunday-morning report WTOL 11 did not name those involved, saying the police report indicated families had not yet been notified; 13abc published the names in its later Sunday report.

Three other people were hurt: two passengers in the Charger, ages 16 and 17, and a 28-year-old passenger in the Blazer, according to both reports. They were taken to Toledo-area hospitals. Toledo police had not released the extent of their injuries as of Sunday afternoon, WTOL 11 reported.

Six people were in the two vehicles in all — four in the Charger and two in the Blazer, according to WTOL 11. Neither report said Hill Avenue was closed for an extended period, and no other vehicles were reported involved.

What caused the Charger and the Blazer to collide head-on has not been determined. As of Sunday, Toledo police had not publicly said what caused the crash, whether alcohol or drugs were a factor, or whether any charges will be filed, according to the reports, and the Toledo Police Department’s investigation is ongoing.

NewsForce247 will update this story as Toledo police release more information, including the conditions of the three people hospitalized. This report is based on Toledo Police Department information reported by WTOL 11 and 13abc (WTVG).
