CINCINNATI, Ohio — Cincinnati police have identified the man fatally shot at Memories Lounge in downtown Cincinnati early Sunday as Kameiro Blair-Martin, 20, who died from a gunshot wound, according to a Cincinnati police news release reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Officers were called to the lounge on East Seventh Street around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, the release said, as reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer. Blair-Martin was found there and taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the release.

Police have not said what led up to the shooting, and they have not stated whether they have a suspect, the Enquirer reported. The lounge was cleared out after the shooting and was not allowing people back in; it is unclear when it will reopen.

The shooting remains under investigation by Cincinnati police, according to the release. No further details about other possible injuries were included in the release as reported by the Enquirer, and NewsForce247 is not adding any — in a case like this, what police have confirmed is the story until investigators say more.

For downtown residents and workers, the immediate facts are the time and the place: around 1:30 a.m. at a lounge on East Seventh Street, in the heart of downtown, on a Saturday night that ran into Sunday morning. Anyone who was at or near Memories Lounge at that hour and saw what happened is the kind of witness investigators typically ask to come forward, and Cincinnati police handle tips through their district and homicide investigators.

What we know — and what we’re still waiting on

What we know, from the Cincinnati police release as reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer: a man identified as Kameiro Blair-Martin, 20, was shot at Memories Lounge on East Seventh Street around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, and died at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. What we’re still waiting on: police have not said what led up to the shooting, whether they have a suspect, whether anyone else was hurt, or when the lounge will reopen. Those unanswered questions are now the investigation itself, and they are the reason this story stays exactly as narrow as the confirmed facts until Cincinnati police speak again.

What happens next: the investigation continues, and any arrest, suspect description, or account of what led to the shooting will come from Cincinnati police. NewsForce247 will update this story if police release further confirmed information.
