BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Wood County voters get their last chance to vote early in person on Sunday, Nov. 1, when the Wood County Board of Elections opens from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 1 Courthouse Square in Bowling Green, according to the early-voting schedule published by the League of Women Voters of the Perrysburg Area and the board’s own site. Sunday is the final day of early in-person voting statewide before polls open on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The board’s office is where every Wood County early voter casts a ballot, whether they live in Bowling Green, Perrysburg, North Baltimore, or the county’s townships. The Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule confirms the statewide frame: early in-person voting began Oct. 6, polls on Nov. 3 are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and non-military absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to count.
Two local decisions headline the Wood County ballot. Voters in the Wood County District Public Library district will decide whether to renew a 0.8-mill levy for six years — a renewal, not a new tax — according to a ballot guide published by The Fostoria Free Press drawing on BG Independent News reporting. The levy raises about $1,212,284 a year and, because property values have risen, carries an effective rate of about 0.505 mills, or roughly $18 a year per $100,000 of market value, BG Independent News reported via The Fostoria Free Press.
The library levy was first passed in 2010 and renewed in 2014 and 2020, and it made up about 38 percent of the library’s tax revenue in 2025, according to the same guide. Voters will also choose a new juvenile and probate court judge to succeed Judge Dave Woessner, who is retiring: Megan Newlove of Bowling Green and Doug Ruck of Pemberville, both longtime attorneys in juvenile, probate, guardianship, and adoption matters, are the candidates, The Fostoria Free Press reported.
Wood County voters will also help decide Ohio House District 75, which covers nearly all of the county, according to the board’s official candidate list as cited by The Fostoria Free Press. Incumbent Rep. Haraz Ghanbari of Perrysburg faces Rick Rettig of Perrysburg in that race. Because ballots differ by precinct, the board urges voters to check their own sample ballot through the Wood County Board of Elections before heading out.
What happens next: anyone who misses Sunday’s 1-to-5 p.m. early window votes at their assigned polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 3, between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Mailed absentee ballots face the new Election Day receipt deadline — Secretary of State Frank LaRose warned on Oct. 27 that it may already be too late to rely on the mail, as The Columbus Dispatch reported — so Wood County voters still holding a ballot should deliver it to the board office in Bowling Green by 7:30 p.m. Tuesday rather than to a polling place.
