HILLSBORO — Highland County voters are in the final days of early voting ahead of the Nov. 3 general election, with in-person early voting running through Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Highland County Board of Elections in the Hi-Tech Center, 1575 North High Street, Suite 200, in Hillsboro, according to the Highland County Board of Elections.

Early voting is open Friday, Oct. 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., continues Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and ends Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the early voting hours posted by the Highland County Board of Elections for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election. Voters with questions can reach the Highland County Board of Elections at (937) 393-9961, according to the board. Absentee ballot applications were due to be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27, under the 2026 voting schedule published by the Ohio Secretary of State.

For voters returning a voted absentee ballot, non-UOCAVA absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, under the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 schedule. Voters who have not yet returned a ballot by mail can deliver it in person to the board office in Hillsboro before that deadline.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, Highland County voters cast ballots at their assigned precinct polling places, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to the Ohio Secretary of State. Early ballots are cast only at the board of elections office — not at a voter’s precinct — while Election Day ballots are cast at the precinct.

The board’s site also invites Highland County residents to serve the election itself: its student poll worker information explains that students who are 17 but will be 18 by the general election can take part, and poll workers vote absentee by mail or in person at the board office because they are assigned to a polling location for the full Election Day, according to the Highland County Board of Elections.
