Marathon Petroleum Corp., the energy company headquartered in Findlay, announced on Wednesday, October 28, that its board of directors has raised the company’s quarterly dividend to $1.10 per share on common stock, according to a company release issued through PR Newswire. The increase puts a larger quarterly payment in line for shareholders of one of northwest Ohio’s best-known corporate headquarters.

The new rate is an increase of 10 percent over Marathon Petroleum’s previous quarterly dividend of $1.00 per share, the company said in the release. The dividend is payable December 10, 2026, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on November 18, 2026, so the November record date is the cutoff that determines who receives this payment.

In plain terms, the change adds 10 cents per share to the amount covered by this declaration compared with the company’s previous quarterly rate. For shareholders in and around Hancock County, the announcement is a routine but closely watched piece of news from a company whose headquarters has long anchored downtown Findlay and whose name is familiar at fuel pumps across the country.

Marathon Petroleum, traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol MPC, describes itself in the release as a leading integrated downstream and midstream energy company headquartered in Findlay, Ohio. The company says it operates the nation’s largest refining system, a scale that helps explain why a board decision made in Findlay draws attention well beyond northwest Ohio.

The company’s marketing system includes branded locations across the United States, including Marathon brand retail outlets, according to the release. That retail presence is the most visible part of the business for most Ohio drivers, linking the Findlay headquarters to gas stations and convenience stops used every day by residents across the region.

Beyond refining and retail, Marathon Petroleum also owns the general partner and a majority limited partner interest in MPLX LP, the company said in the release. MPLX is described there as a midstream company that owns and operates gathering, processing and fractionation assets, as well as crude oil and light product transportation and logistics infrastructure.

What happens next is set by the dates in the company’s announcement: shareholders of record on November 18 will be in line for the December 10 payment at the new $1.10 rate. Marathon Petroleum directed readers to marathonpetroleum.com for more information about the company in the release, which listed Jamal Kheiry as its communications director and Brian Worthington and Alyx Teschel in investor relations.
