WOOSTER, Ohio — Wayne County voters are in the final week of early voting for the Nov. 3 general election, with in-person absentee voting running at the Wayne County Board of Elections, 200 Vanover St., Suite 1, in Wooster, through Sunday, Nov. 1.

Wayne County Board of Elections Director Julie Stahl encouraged voters with questions to call the board before coming in. “If voters have any questions about early voting, absentee ballots, or the voting process, we encourage them to call the Board of Elections before coming in,” Stahl told The Daily Record in Wooster. She also thanked the poll workers and volunteers who staff early voting and Election Day across the county, The Daily Record reported.

Wooster voters who need a ride can use a free trip during the final stretch. WayGo, the city’s transit service, is offering one free round trip on its pre-scheduled Demand Response service from Oct. 26 through Nov. 3 for travel anywhere in its service area, including the board of elections for early voting and assigned polling places on Election Day, according to a community announcement reported by The Daily Record.

“After the public asked questions about voter transportation, city leadership and WayGo staff reviewed our current operations to identify a solution,” public transportation manager Kevin White said in the announcement reported by The Daily Record. “Ultimately, we want to ensure every eligible voter in Wooster has a safe, reliable ride to the polls,” White told The Daily Record.

Voters who wait until Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, must cast their ballots at their assigned polling locations, which will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Ohio law requires voters to present a valid photo ID when voting in person. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day under the statewide schedule.
