PHILADELPHIA — Kent Johnson scored his second goal of the game at 2:22 of overtime and the Columbus Blue Jackets recovered after blowing a three-goal lead for a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Tuesday, according to NHL.com.

Johnson won it when he finished a 2-on-0 rush with Adam Fantilli, NHL.com reported. The goal came after Jamie Drysdale tied the game 3-3 for Philadelphia with 11 seconds remaining in the third period, with goaltender Dan Vladar pulled for an extra attacker.

Columbus built its lead with three goals in a span of 2:46 midway through the first period, according to NHL.com. Fantilli made it 1-0 at 10:58 during 4-on-4 play, Johnson redirected a Zach Werenski one-timer at 12:54 to make it 2-0, and Denton Mateychuk pushed the lead to 3-0 at 13:44.

Philadelphia controlled the game from there, outshooting Columbus 28-6 over the second and third periods, including 15-1 in the third, NHL.com reported. Noah Cates cut the deficit to 3-1 at 9:59 of the second, and Trevor Zegras made it 3-2 at 15:04 of the third before Drysdale’s late equalizer, which went in off his skate from a Tyson Foerster centering pass, according to NHL.com.

“Just clearly got away from our game,” Columbus coach Rick Bowness told NHL.com. “It was such a dominant first period, that’s how we want to play. We knew they were going to come at us in the second, and we just didn’t handle it very well.”

Johnson finished with two goals and an assist — his third three-point game in the NHL, according to NHL.com — while Fantilli added a goal, Werenski had two assists and Cam Talbot made 28 saves. Zegras had a goal and an assist for the Flyers (3-7-4), Cates scored, and Vladar made 11 saves, NHL.com reported. Defenseman Dante Fabbro made his season debut for Columbus after missing the first nine games with an upper-body injury and recorded three blocked shots, according to NHL.com.

“Obviously, we’d like to clean some stuff up from the second two periods tonight, but yeah, it feels good to win,” Werenski told NHL.com. “It feels good to clean things up after a win. It’s way better than after a loss.”

The win was Columbus’ second in a row — following Saturday’s 2-1 overtime win over Vegas — and its first winning streak of any kind this season, lifting the Blue Jackets to 5-5-0, according to NHL.com, which also noted Columbus has now won six straight road games against the Flyers.
