Jackson County voters enter the final week of early voting for the November 3 general election, with in-person ballots being cast at the Jackson County Board of Elections office in Jackson through Sunday, November 1.
Early in-person voting follows the statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. The board takes ballots Monday, October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with Saturday, October 31 hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, November 1 hours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There is no early in-person voting on Monday, November 2, the day before Election Day. Voters still in line when a session is scheduled to end are allowed to vote, under the statewide rules.
Tuesday, October 27 is also a key deadline for voting by mail: absentee ballot applications must be received by the county board of elections by 8:30 p.m. that day. Any registered Ohio voter may vote absentee by mail with no excuse needed.
Completed absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3 — a postmark alone does not count. Voters returning a ballot close to the deadline can deliver it in person to the board office or its drop box by that time.
Voters can preview what is on their ballot through the county board of elections and the Ohio Secretary of State’s sample-ballot tools before they vote, including the statewide races and issues and the local races and questions facing Jackson County voters on November 3.
On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, precinct polling places across Jackson County will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters who have not cast an early or absentee ballot should bring an accepted photo ID and confirm their polling place with the board or the Secretary of State before heading out.
Jackson County voters with questions about their registration, ballot or polling place can contact the county board of elections directly during office hours, or use the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools online, before the final-week lines grow longer.
