COLUMBUS, Ohio — Singers from around the world will fill the Greater Columbus Convention Center this week as the SingUnited International Convention runs Monday, October 26 through Saturday, October 31, 2026, bringing top qualifying choruses and quartets to central Ohio to compete for international championship titles.
SingUnited International is the global organization for women’s barbershop harmony singers and one of the premier a cappella music organizations in the world. The Columbus gathering is a championship week, not a single concert — qualifying ensembles perform in competition across several days in front of judges and fellow singers.
In addition to the competitions, the week will feature educational workshops, performances by past champions, networking opportunities, and social events, creating a celebration of music, artistry, and community, according to Experience Columbus convention materials for the event.
The organization was formerly known as Sweet Adelines International. It previously held its 77th Annual International Convention and Competition in Columbus from October 20 to 25, 2025, so many local businesses and hospitality partners will recognize the group from its visit last fall, even under its new name.
For Columbus, a weeklong international convention means sustained business beyond the competition hall. Attendees are described by Experience Columbus as passionate supporters of the performing arts who often extend their time in the destination to experience local attractions, restaurants, and entertainment offerings, generating economic impact through hotel stays, dining, entertainment, shopping, and local transportation.
The convention also lands in a busy fall stretch for downtown Columbus, with visitors arriving as the city heads into Halloween week and a full calendar of arena, theatre, and convention events. Hospitality workers downtown can expect the steadiest convention traffic from Monday’s opening through Saturday’s close.
The SingUnited International Convention runs October 26–31 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. Readers planning trips downtown this week should allow extra time for parking and expect larger crowds around the convention center, especially on competition days.
