Butler County early voting enters its final week ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election, with in-person early voting available only at the Butler County Board of Elections, 1802 Princeton Road, Suite 600, in Hamilton, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting directory.
Early voting began Oct. 6 and concludes Sunday, Nov. 1. The final week brings the longest hours of the early-voting period: Monday, Oct. 26 through Friday, Oct. 30 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with Tuesday, Oct. 27 extended to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the last day of early voting.
Tuesday, Oct. 27 is also a key deadline for voters who prefer to vote by mail: absentee ballot request forms must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. that day. Voters can submit a request by mail, in person, or through the board’s 24-hour secured drop box.
Completed absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by the day before Election Day and received by the board, and ballots can also be returned in person to the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Absentee ballots should not be returned to polling places on Election Day.
Voters who cast a ballot in person — early or on Election Day — need an unexpired Ohio driver’s license or state ID, a U.S. passport, or a military or veterans ID. Voters can check their registration, find their Election Day polling place, and view a sample ballot at VoteOhio.gov.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls across Butler County and Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters in line at closing time are still permitted to cast a ballot.
For Hamilton, Fairfield, Middletown, Oxford and the rest of Butler County, the coming week is the last chance to vote early in person before Nov. 3 — and, for mail voters, the last chance to request a ballot at all.
