Montgomery County voters can cast early in-person ballots this week at the county Board of Elections in Dayton, as early voting for the November 3 general election runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at the board office.
The Montgomery County Board of Elections is located at 451 W. Third St. in Dayton. Early voting is held on the lower level of the county building, and parking is free for voters coming to early voting in the public parking garage, whose entrance is off W. Second St. between the entrance to I-75 South and the Montgomery County Jail, according to the board. Voters follow signs from the lobby down the escalators to early voting.
Early voting hours follow the statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. After this week’s 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday hours, voting runs Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then Monday, October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday, October 27 is also the deadline for absentee ballot applications, which must be received by 8:30 p.m. that day. Early voting then continues Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the final day of early in-person voting.
Montgomery County is one of Ohio’s most populous counties, anchored by Dayton and including Kettering, Huber Heights, Trotwood and other Miami Valley communities. Its voters will help decide statewide races and statewide issues on the November 3 ballot, along with the local races and levies in their own communities.
Voters who do not vote early or by mail will vote at their assigned polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, when polls in Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters can confirm their registration, polling place and sample ballot through the Montgomery County Board of Elections or the Ohio Secretary of State.
The board can be reached at 937-225-5656. Its regular office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., apart from the extended early-voting hours listed above. No turnout figure for Montgomery County early voting had been published by the board in the sources checked for this story, and none is claimed here.
