The City of Perrysburg will host an open house on Thursday, October 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Schaller Memorial Building, 130 West Indiana Avenue, to share information about the upcoming Front, Second and Third Street Watermain Replacement Project.
Residents and property owners are welcome to stop by at any time during the open house to speak with staff from the city’s Department of Public Utilities. Staff will be available to answer questions and will have map layouts, diagrams and additional information about the planned work on hand.
The project will replace aging 4-inch waterlines that have reached the end of their service life. The city says the work is part of its ongoing investment in a safe, reliable and efficient drinking water system, and is intended to improve water system reliability and reduce the likelihood of future watermain breaks and unexpected service interruptions.
“Replacing these aging waterlines before significant failures occur allows us to be proactive in maintaining the reliability of our water system and helps reduce the potential for emergency repairs and unexpected service interruptions,” said Matt Choma, Director of Public Utilities for the City of Perrysburg, in the city’s announcement.
Work is currently planned along portions of Front Street, Second Street, Third Street, Pine Street and Indiana Avenue. The city especially encourages residents and property owners along the streets included in the project to stop by, learn more about the planned improvements and talk with staff about how the work will affect their properties.
Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2026 or early 2027, according to the city. The open house is being held well ahead of construction so property owners can understand the scope of the project, the streets involved and the expected benefits before work begins.
For Perrysburg households along the affected streets, Thursday evening’s session is the chance to ask directly about timing, access and service during construction, and to see the project maps in person rather than waiting for construction notices to arrive.
