There is no early in-person voting on Monday, November 2. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, polls in Logan County will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters who prefer to vote by mail should note that absentee ballot applications are due to the board by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, according to the Ohio Secretary of State.

Two issues appear on ballots across Logan County this fall. The first is a five-year, two-mill additional levy for the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The levy is estimated to cost about $5.83 per month for the owner of a home appraised at $100,000.

The second countywide item is a five-year renewal of the county’s existing 0.5 percent sales and use tax for roads and bridges, a tax first passed in 1997. Under the current distribution, proceeds are split with 25 percent going to county roads and bridges, 25 percent to the Sheriff’s Office, 20 percent to township roads, 20 percent to municipal roads, and 10 percent to economic development and land use.

Voters in the Bellefontaine City School District will also decide a school issue on this ballot: a 1 percent earned income tax on a continuing basis for current expenses. If approved, collections would begin January 1, 2027, and the tax is estimated to raise about $3.5 million a year for the district.

Voters with questions about their ballot, their registration, or early voting can contact the Logan County Board of Elections at 937-599-7255 or visit the office at 225 South Main Street in Bellefontaine. Because early voting hours change several times between now and November 1, voters planning to vote in the final week may want to confirm the day’s hours before making the trip.
