Lawrence County voters can cast an early in-person ballot for the November 3, 2026 general election from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week, Monday, October 19 through Friday, October 23, at the Lawrence County Board of Elections, 1305 S. Third Street in Ironton, according to the board’s published early voting schedule. Early voting is held at the board office, not at a voter’s regular precinct polling place, which opens only on Election Day.

The board, which lists its phone number as 740-532-0444, began in-person early voting on October 6. The Ohio Secretary of State’s voting schedule confirms the same statewide hours for this week and notes that absentee voting by mail also began October 6. No Lawrence County-specific early turnout total was posted on the board’s site or in the Secretary of State schedule consulted for this story, and no county turnout figure is reported here.

The board’s sample ballot shows the contests Lawrence County voters will decide, though the exact ballot varies by precinct. Statewide races on the sample include governor and lieutenant governor, U.S. senator for an unexpired term, attorney general, auditor of state, secretary of state, treasurer of state, and two Ohio Supreme Court seats, along with statewide Issue 3, the proposed constitutional amendment to require voters to present photo identification in order to vote.

District and local contests on the sample include Congress in the 2nd District, state senator in the 17th District, state representative in the 93rd District, Court of Appeals judge for the 4th District, Court of Common Pleas judges including Probate/Juvenile, county commissioner, and county auditor. It also carries a Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District renewal levy for permanent improvements, at 0.5 mill, estimated to collect $744,260 annually for five years. Voters can check their own precinct’s sample ballot through the board.

Next week brings evening hours for voters who work during the day. Anyone who waits until Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, will vote at their regular precinct, where polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to the Secretary of State. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, November 2.
