Ohio State Lima is packing three different kinds of campus visits into a single week, with a Student Wellness Fair on Wednesday, October 21, a Buckeye Preview Day for prospective students on Friday, October 23, and a weekend run of a fill-in-the-blanks comedy from the campus theatre department.
The wellness fair runs Wednesday from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in the Perry Webb Student Life Building. Organizers say students can explore resources that support all aspects of their well-being, connect with campus and community organizations, learn about available services, pick up useful items, and enjoy free snacks, according to Pam Joseph.
On Friday, Buckeye Preview Day takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the G. Gilbert Cloyd Student Commons in Galvin Hall. The morning is built for students considering Ohio State Lima, with a comprehensive overview of what the campus offers.
Preview Day visits include an admissions overview and a chance to learn about academic programs, financial aid and scholarships, student clubs and organizations, learning communities, housing, study abroad, and honors opportunities. The event concludes with a guided tour of campus, Joseph said, giving visiting students and families a firsthand look at the buildings and grounds before they decide where to apply.
The week closes on stage. The Department of Theatre at Ohio State Lima will present “Villain: DeBlanks! A fill-in-the-blanks comedy” at Reed Hall Cafe. Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 23 and 24, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday, October 25, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Together, the three events show the different roles a regional campus plays in the same week: supporting current students’ health and well-being, recruiting the next class from Lima and the surrounding northwest Ohio communities, and offering live entertainment open to the campus community.
