Guernsey County voters can cast an early in-person ballot for the Nov. 3 general election from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday this week at the Guernsey County Board of Elections, 627 Wheeling Ave., Suite 101, in Cambridge. Early and absentee voting for the Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026 general election began Tuesday, Oct. 6, and the board is following the statewide early-voting schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State.

Voters who expected the board to have a new address will still find it on Wheeling Avenue this fall. The board has announced it will not be moving to its new 612 Steubenville Avenue location until after the November general election, so every early ballot, absentee application and Election Day question this cycle runs through the current Wheeling Avenue office.

The weekday 8-to-5 schedule continues through Friday, Oct. 23, and then expands. Early voting runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, followed by longer hours in the final week: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. from Wednesday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Oct. 30. The final weekend offers 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1, the last day of early in-person voting.

Guernsey County voters who prefer to vote by mail face a hard deadline next week. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board of elections by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and voted absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, to be counted. The board notes that an absentee application must be on file for each separate election before a ballot can be mailed.

Anyone returning an absentee ballot for someone else will be required to sign state form 12-P, the Absentee Ballot Delivery Attestation, under an Ohio Secretary of State directive the board is enforcing this cycle. Voters with questions about registration, their ballot or the early-voting schedule can contact the board at its Wheeling Avenue office in Cambridge.

On the Nov. 3 ballot, Guernsey County voters will decide contested county and local races, local levies and issues, and judgeships, alongside Ohio’s statewide races and statewide issues, which appear on every Ohio ballot. The board’s site carries the county’s election notices and the absentee and early-voting information voters need to make a plan.

Election Day itself is Tuesday, Nov. 3, when Guernsey County polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters who have not cast an early or absentee ballot by then should confirm their assigned polling location before heading out, and anyone in line when the polls close at 7:30 p.m. will still be permitted to vote.
