What happens next is the official canvass. According to the Secretary of State’s office, county boards begin the canvass between five and 15 days after Election Day, reviewing records and counting remaining eligible ballots, and must certify results no later than 21 days after Election Day. The Secretary of State listed 25 outstanding provisional ballots and two outstanding overseas absentee ballots for Monroe County after Election Night. County certifications are then reviewed before final statewide certification.
