Jackson County voters head to their precinct polling places today, Tuesday, November 3, for the 2026 general election after early in-person voting wrapped up Sunday in Jackson. Polls across the county are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and voters must cast their ballots at their designated precinct location, according to the Jackson County Board of Elections.

Early in-person voting took place at the board’s office, 25 E. South St., Suite B, in Jackson — at the rear of the Job and Family Services building — and ended Sunday, November 1, with final hours of 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the board’s official early-voting schedule. There was no early voting on Monday. Voters can confirm their registration, precinct and polling place through the board and the Ohio Secretary of State before heading out.

Absentee voters face a hard deadline tonight. Under Senate Bill 293, signed into law in December 2025, absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by the close of polls on Election Day to be counted, and there is no longer a four-day grace period after Election Day, according to The Columbus Dispatch. Ballots returned in person must reach the board at 25 E. South St. by 7:30 p.m. tonight; mailed military and overseas (UOCAVA) ballots have until Saturday, November 7, according to the board’s schedule.

Every Jackson County ballot carries the statewide races — Governor, Attorney General, Auditor of State, Secretary of State, Treasurer of State and two Ohio Supreme Court seats — along with State Issue 3, the proposed constitutional amendment to require voters to present photo identification in order to vote, according to the Ohio Secretary of State.

The county’s most closely watched local contest is the State Representative race in Ohio House District 93, where Republican Jason Stephens faces Democrat Jessica Harper — the matchup Jackson County voters have weighed since the county’s ballot took shape earlier this fall. Appeals court judgeships also appear on the county ballot. Beyond those district races, what appears on an individual ballot depends on the voter’s precinct, township and school district, and the board’s sample ballot is the authoritative preview.

Statewide, the Ohio Secretary of State reminds voters that polls are open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and that anyone in line at 7:30 p.m. may still vote. Results will begin posting after polls close tonight, and the board of elections will certify Jackson County’s official results in the days that follow.
