Coshocton County voters head to their precinct polling places on Tuesday, Nov. 3, after early in-person voting ended Sunday afternoon, Nov. 1. Polls across the county will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, according to the Coshocton County Board of Elections, and there is no voting at the County Services Building on Election Day — voters must vote at their assigned polling location, the board said.

Early in-person voting began Oct. 6 at the board office, 724 S. 7th St., Room 100, in Coshocton, and ran through Nov. 1, closing with Sunday hours from 1 to 5 p.m., according to the board. Voters who still hold an absentee ballot should return it in person to the board office by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day — under Ohio Substitute Senate Bill 293, non-military absentee ballots must now be delivered by the close of polls, with no post-Election Day grace period, and absentee ballots cannot be returned to polling locations, the board said.

The only competitive local race on the fall ballot is for county commissioner, the Coshocton Tribune reported: Republican Chuck Ellis faces write-in candidate Rick Conkle for the seat being vacated by Gary Fischer, who chose not to seek re-election, with a four-year term running from 2027 to 2031. Ellis won the Republican primary over Dean Hettinger and Chuck Selders, and Conkle served one term as commissioner from 2020 to 2024, according to the Coshocton Tribune.

Two countywide renewal levies are also before voters, the Coshocton Tribune reported. The Coshocton County District Library is seeking renewal of a 0.5-mill levy for five years for current expenses, estimated to generate $400,237 a year and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $12 a year, with figures from the Coshocton County Auditor’s Office. Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services is seeking renewal of a 3-mill levy for five years for operations and maintenance, the Tribune reported.

Every Coshocton County ballot also carries the statewide races and State Issue 3, the proposed constitutional amendment on voter photo ID, along with district offices. Polling locations listed by the board include the Coshocton County Community Room at 637 Chestnut St. for all Coshocton city precincts, Three Rivers Fire District, Roscoe United Methodist Church, Fresno Bible Church, Prairie Chapel Methodist Church, Ridgewood Elementary School in West Lafayette, Monroe Township House, Conesville Fire Department and the Church of God Camp in Warsaw, each serving its assigned townships, according to the board.

Voters heading to the polls on Tuesday need an unexpired photo ID under Ohio law, the board said. Anyone in line at their polling place by 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote. After the polls close, the Coshocton County Board of Elections will report unofficial results through the evening, and NewsForce247 will follow the county’s returns as part of its Election Night coverage.
