Adams County voters have one final chance to vote early in person on Sunday, Nov. 1, as Ohio’s early-voting period closes ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule.

Early in-person voting runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Adams County Board of Elections, 923 Sunrise Ave., Room 101, in West Union, the county seat, according to the Secretary of State’s early-voting locations directory. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, Nov. 2.

Adams County’s ballot carries Ohio’s statewide races — including governor, attorney general, secretary of state, U.S. Senate and Ohio Supreme Court seats — along with State Issue 3 and the county’s local races and issues. Voters can review their sample ballot through the Secretary of State’s voter tools before heading to West Union.

Secretary of State Frank LaRose, in an Oct. 30 statement from his office, encouraged voters to be patient in line during the final weekend, saying in-person early voting was on pace to set a midterm election record and that Ohio had already offered more than 190 hours of in-person early voting leading into the weekend.

Voters who still hold an absentee ballot face a hard deadline this year. Under Senate Bill 293, signed by Gov. Mike DeWine in December 2025, non-military absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3 — there is no longer a post-Election Day grace period, The Columbus Dispatch reported. Ballots for military and overseas voters must be received by Nov. 7.

LaRose advised voters with outstanding mail ballots to return them in person rather than risk the mail, The Columbus Dispatch reported, and completed ballots can be dropped off at the board of elections in West Union through the close of polls Tuesday.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, Adams County polling places will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., according to the Secretary of State’s schedule. Voters can confirm their polling place and what identification to bring at VoteOhio.gov.

This story is Adams County’s second-pass election update in NewsForce247’s county-by-county rotation. The county’s first-pass story, published Oct. 18, covered early ballots being cast in West Union as the Nov. 3 election neared.
