MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Evan Mobley scored a season-high 27 points and Jarrett Allen added 25 points and 11 rebounds as the Cleveland Cavaliers rolled to a 136-111 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night, October 31, at Fiserv Forum, Reuters reported.
Milwaukee led 25-24 after one quarter, but the game turned decisively in the second. Mobley poured in 13 points in the quarter as Cleveland outscored the Bucks 48-21 to build a 72-46 halftime advantage, according to Reuters. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that the stretch included a span of 5 minutes, 49 seconds late in the half in which the Bucks did not make a field goal.
Cleveland’s lead reached 36 points — 112-76 early in the fourth quarter — on a night when the Cavaliers’ frontcourt did the heavy lifting. Reuters reported that Donovan Mitchell added 15 points and James Harden had 13 points and seven assists for Cleveland, which earned its first road win in three tries this season and improved to 4-2.
Kel’el Ware led Milwaukee with 19 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Tyler Herro scored 15 points on 5-of-18 shooting as the Bucks lost their second straight game and their fifth in six to open the season, Reuters reported. The Journal Sentinel noted that Milwaukee did not hold a shootaround on Saturday, opting instead for a walkthrough at Fiserv Forum before the game.
For the Cavaliers, the win was a statement about where their offense can go when the big men set the tone: Mobley and Allen combined for 52 points, and Cleveland piled up 56 points in the paint while its regulars were in the game through three quarters, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Only seven Cavaliers have appeared in each of the team’s first six games, Reuters noted, which makes the 4-2 start — and a 25-point road win built in one quarter — a useful early marker for a rotation still taking shape.
What happens next: Cleveland returns home to host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, November 2, while Milwaukee visits the Minnesota Timberwolves the same night, according to the teams’ schedules reported by Reuters and the Journal Sentinel.
