Zanesville’s first Chick-fil-A will open at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 3541 Maple Ave., the company told the Zanesville Times Recorder on Oct. 29, ending a wait that began when construction started in May.

The new restaurant is owned and operated by Preston Tippett and has brought about 100 new part-time and full-time jobs to Zanesville, Chick-fil-A told the Times Recorder. The roughly 5,200-square-foot restaurant was built near Roosters and Hobby Lobby on Maple Avenue.

To celebrate opening day, Chick-fil-A will host a “Moove-In Party,” offering one free entrée or kid’s meal — inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru — to visitors of any age who wear cow-related attire or accessories, according to the company’s announcement reported by the Times Recorder.

“Opening the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Zanesville is an incredible honor,” Tippett said in the company’s announcement, as quoted by the Zanesville Times Recorder. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to build a team, invest in future leaders and serve a community that is welcoming Chick-fil-A for the first time.”

The restaurant’s regular hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and it will be closed on Sundays, the company said in its announcement. Chick-fil-A describes itself as the third-largest quick-service restaurant company in the United States, with more than 3,000 locations internationally and more than 200,000 employees.

For Zanesville, the opening adds a national chain that residents previously had to drive out of the city to visit, along with about 100 jobs on one of the city’s busiest commercial corridors. NewsForce247 also reported today on other help and activity coming to Zanesville this month, including federal disaster assistance teams offering in-person help in the city Nov. 2-20.

What happens next is opening morning on Nov. 5. Diners hoping for the free Moove-In entrée should arrive in cow attire or accessories, and the restaurant can be followed on Facebook for future updates, according to the company.
