URBANA, Ohio — Early in-person voting in Champaign County has entered its final days, with just four voting sessions left before Election Day. Registered voters can cast an early ballot at the Champaign County Board of Elections, 1512 South U.S. Highway 68, Suite L100, in Urbana, through Sunday, November 1, according to the board’s location listing and the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule.
The remaining early voting hours follow the statewide schedule published by the Ohio Secretary of State. The board is open Thursday, October 29, and Friday, October 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., then Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday is the last day of early in-person voting in Ohio — there is no early voting on Monday, November 2.
After Sunday, the only way to vote in person is at a voter’s assigned precinct polling place on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, when polls across Ohio are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Secretary of State’s schedule states. Voters who are in line when a voting session ends are permitted to cast their ballots.
Voters holding absentee ballots face a hard deadline as well. Under the Secretary of State’s 2026 schedule, non-military and non-overseas absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3 — a postmark alone does not count. Ballots can be returned in person to the board office in Urbana instead of by mail. The deadline to request an absentee ballot passed on Tuesday, October 27, at 8:30 p.m.
The November 3 ballot in Champaign County is headed by statewide races for governor and lieutenant governor, U.S. senator, attorney general, auditor of state, secretary of state, treasurer of state, and justices of the Ohio Supreme Court, according to the official sample ballots published by the Champaign County Board of Elections. Voters will also decide statewide Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voters to present photo identification in order to vote.
Locally, the sample ballots show races for Champaign County commissioner and Champaign County auditor, along with two countywide tax questions. One is an additional levy for the Champaign County Board of Developmental Disabilities — 1.5 mills for five years, commencing in 2027, which the county auditor estimates will collect $2,412,660 annually. The other is a five-year renewal levy of 0.4 mill for the operation of the Champaign Health District. Exact ballot items vary by precinct, and voters can review their own sample ballot through the board of elections before they go.
Election officials remind voters to bring an approved form of photo identification, such as an Ohio driver’s license or state identification card, a U.S. passport, or a military identification card. Champaign County voters with questions about their registration, polling place, or ballot can contact the board of elections in Urbana ahead of the final early voting sessions this weekend.
