Bowling Green Hockey Forward Noah Morneau Named CCHA Forward of the Week AgainThe Slater Family Ice Arena in Bowling Green, home of the Falcons hockey team

Bowling Green sophomore forward Noah Morneau has been named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association’s Forward of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Monday, after a four-point weekend powered the Falcons to a sweep of Lake Superior State at the Slater Family Ice Arena.

Morneau did most of his damage in Friday’s series opener, scoring two goals and adding an assist as Bowling Green rolled past the Lakers 6-2 on October 23. He had a hand in three of the Falcons’ six goals that night, and he led the entire team with nine shots across the two games.

He was not done when the series resumed Saturday. Morneau added another assist in Bowling Green’s 4-2 win on October 24, completing the weekend sweep and finishing the two games with two goals and two assists for four points.

The honor is already a familiar one for the Windsor, Ontario native. Monday’s award is Morneau’s second CCHA Forward of the Week nod of this young season — he previously won it on October 12 — and the fifth CCHA weekly or monthly honor of his college career. As a freshman last year he was named the league’s Rookie of the Month for November 2025, and he collected one Rookie of the Week and one Forward of the Week award during that first season as well.

Production like Morneau’s matters in a league as tight as the CCHA, where a single weekend sweep can shuffle the early standings. Bowling Green took both games from a Lake Superior State team visiting Bowling Green, and the Falcons did it with their sophomore winger factoring into the scoring on both nights rather than riding one hot game — the kind of consistency coaches look for when they build a top line in October.

Bowling Green’s athletics department doubled up on the recognition Monday, also naming Morneau one of its two Athletes of the Week alongside women’s soccer senior defender Taylor Green. Green returned from two matches missed through injury to play all 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Buffalo, anchoring a defense that allowed just two shots on goal as the Falcons moved to 7-3-5 overall entering the final week of the regular season.

For the hockey Falcons, the sweep of Lake Superior State sends them into a breather on a winning note. Bowling Green has this weekend off before returning to home ice in early November, when Bemidji State visits Bowling Green to open the month.

Morneau’s fast start gives the Falcons a reliable finisher at the top of the lineup as conference play deepens, and if his first month is any indication — two Forward of the Week awards in three weeks — opposing CCHA defenses will be circling his name on the scouting report for the rest of the season.
