Early in-person voting enters its final week in Geauga County on Monday, with the Board of Elections in Chardon open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for voters who want to cast a ballot ahead of the Tuesday, November 3 general election.

The Geauga County Board of Elections is located at 12611 Ravenwood Drive, Suite 004, in Chardon, in the basement of the Geauga County Office Building, accessible by stairs or the main lobby elevator. Curbside voting is available at the back of the building for voters who need accommodation. Voters must show a photo ID to vote early in person.

Hours expand through the final week. After Monday’s 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. session, the office stays open Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., then 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30. Weekend hours follow on Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., when early voting ends.

Tuesday, October 27 is also a key deadline for voters voting by mail: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by that date. Voted absentee ballots must reach the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, and can be returned by mail, in person, or through the board’s secure, monitored ballot drop box near the entrance of the county office building.

Geauga Transit is offering free Dial-a-Ride trips to the polls and to the board office for early voting, so transportation does not have to be a barrier for county voters. The League of Women Voters of Geauga also publishes a voter guide comparing the candidates and issues on the county’s ballot.

Geauga County voters are deciding county and local races and issues alongside Ohio’s statewide contests on the November 3 ballot. Sample ballots are available through the board of elections and the Ohio Secretary of State’s website so voters can review their choices before they arrive.

Voters who wait until Election Day will vote at their precinct polling place, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3. Election officials encourage anyone who can vote early to do so during this final week to avoid Election Day lines.
