Belmont County voters enter the final full week of early voting Monday ahead of the November 3 general election, with in-person absentee voting resuming at the Belmont County Board of Elections, 52180 National Road East in St. Clairsville. There is no early voting session on Sunday, October 25 — the board’s office reopens Monday morning with expanded hours for the stretch run.
The final-week schedule, set by the Ohio Secretary of State and posted by the county board, runs Monday, October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Voting continues Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., then Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Early in-person voting ends after that Sunday session; there is no early voting on Monday, November 2.
Tuesday, October 27 is also a key deadline for voters voting by mail: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. that day. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, to be counted — voters returning ballots close to the deadline are urged to deliver them in person rather than rely on the mail.
Early voters cast their ballot at the board of elections office, not at their precinct polling place. Precincts open on Election Day itself, Tuesday, November 3, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters should bring an accepted photo ID, and anyone still in line when a voting session is scheduled to end is allowed to vote.
On the Belmont County ballot, voters will decide two countywide renewal levies — one for senior services and one for 911 services — alongside contested countywide offices including county commissioner, the statewide races on every Ohio ballot, and local school, township and municipal questions that vary by precinct. Sample ballots for each precinct are available through the board of elections and the Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools.
This story is the second-pass election visit to Belmont County in NewsForce247’s county-by-county coverage of the November 3 election. The first-pass story earlier this month previewed the county’s ballot; this update covers the final-week voting logistics as the early-voting period, which began October 6, enters its last days.
Belmont County voters with questions about their registration, precinct, or ballot can contact the Belmont County Board of Elections in St. Clairsville or check their registration through the Ohio Secretary of State. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. across the county.
