Wayne County voters can cast an early in-person ballot Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wayne County Board of Elections, 200 Vanover St., Suite 1, in Wooster, as early voting continues ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
The Wayne County Board of Elections said early voting — technically in-person absentee voting — began Oct. 6, following the Oct. 5 voter registration deadline. Director Julie Stahl encouraged voters with questions about early voting, absentee ballots or the voting process to call the board before coming in, noting staff can often answer questions ahead of time.
Saturday is the first weekend day of early voting in Wayne County. There is no early voting Sunday, Oct. 25. Hours expand in the final week: Monday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, under the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Early voting ends Nov. 1, and the Early Vote Center is closed Monday, Nov. 2.
Ohio law requires voters to present a valid photo ID when voting in person. Voters can check their registration, view a sample ballot and find their Election Day polling place through the board’s page at WayneCountyOH.gov or at VoteOhio.gov.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, there is no voting at the board office. Wayne County voters must go to their assigned polling locations, which will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Stahl also thanked the poll workers and volunteers who give their time to help elections run smoothly, calling their work an important part of making early voting and Election Day possible throughout Wayne County. No county turnout total was reported by the board for publication with this update.
