Union County voters can cast an early in-person ballot on Saturday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Union County Board of Elections, 835 East Fifth Street, Suite A, in Marysville. The Saturday session is part of the statewide early voting schedule for the November 3 general election set by the Ohio Secretary of State, and it is the first weekend session of the final stretch before Election Day.

Early voting has run at a strong pace in Union County this fall. Reporting based on board figures showed 1,770 ballots received in the first four days of early voting, October 6 through 9, more than double the 823 recorded in the first four days four years ago. A later board report showed about 3,928 in-office voters and roughly 1,259 returned mail ballots, with Friday the busiest day yet at 854 ballots received.

The makeup of the early electorate has also shifted. Unaffiliated and independent voters have accounted for a larger share of ballots than in 2022, while Republican ballots remain the largest group and Democratic returns are up from four years ago. Thousands of mail ballots requested by Union County voters were still outstanding in the most recent reports, and those ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to count under Ohio’s current rules.

After Saturday, early in-person voting continues Monday, October 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Tuesday, October 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday is also the deadline for the board to receive absentee ballot applications, by 8:30 p.m. Voting then runs Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Voters who come to the board office should bring an acceptable photo ID, such as an Ohio driver’s license, a state ID card, a passport or a military ID. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, polls across Union County will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and voters must vote at their assigned precinct polling place rather than at the board office.

Sample ballots and precinct information are available through the Union County Board of Elections and the Ohio Secretary of State’s voter lookup tools. Election officials encourage voters who still hold a mail ballot to return it promptly, either by mail with time to arrive or in person to the board office, so it is received before the Election Day deadline.
