Trumbull County voters can cast an early in-person ballot Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Trumbull County Board of Elections, 2947 Youngstown Road SE in Warren, as early voting for the Nov. 3 general election enters its final full week, according to the board’s published schedule.

Saturday is the first weekend day of early voting in this cycle. Hours expand further next week: Monday, Oct. 26 runs 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27 runs 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, run 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day, the board said.

The final weekend offers two more chances: Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. Early in-person voting ends Nov. 1; there is no early voting on Monday, Nov. 2.

Tuesday, Oct. 27 is also a hard deadline off the ballot itself: absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. that night, under the Ohio Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Voters who still plan to vote by mail should get an application in well before that cutoff.

Completed absentee ballots face a tighter rule than in older cycles. Under current Ohio law, a non-military, non-overseas absentee ballot must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, to be counted; the old postmark grace period no longer applies to those ballots, while military and overseas voters keep a Nov. 7 receipt deadline.

Turnout expectations in the Mahoning Valley are subdued. Trumbull County elections director Stephanie Penrose, who had predicted about 22 percent turnout before early voting began, has lowered her expectation to roughly 17 to 18 percent after seeing early in-person turnout and absentee requests, according to regional reporting, while noting she hopes voters prove the projection wrong.
