Putnam County voters can cast an early in-person ballot for the Nov. 3 general election at the Putnam County Board of Elections, 575 Ottawa-Glandorf Road, Suite 2, in Ottawa, where early voting runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 23, according to the board’s posted schedule. Early voting is cast at the board office — not at a voter’s regular precinct, which opens only on Election Day.
The schedule widens from here. The board is open for early voting on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then moves into the final full week: Monday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; and Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The last weekend of early voting is Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no early voting on Monday, Nov. 2.
Voters who would rather vote by mail are working against an earlier deadline. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The board accepts application requests by email, by mail to its Ottawa address, and through the drop box out front of the Board of Elections, and completed absentee ballots must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
The board’s regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is led by Director Kathy Miller and Deputy Director Tina Schreiber, and voters with questions can reach the board at 419-538-6850. The board’s page also carries the federal write-in absentee ballot notices for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election for military and overseas voters.
County voters are deciding the Nov. 3 general election ballot for Putnam County, which is anchored by the statewide races and issues Ohio voters are deciding this fall, alongside the county and local contests and questions on their precinct’s ballot. Voters can preview exactly what they will be asked to decide by checking their sample ballot before they go, so there are no surprises in the voting booth.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, Putnam County voters who have not voted early or by mail vote at their assigned precinct polling place, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters still in line when a voting session is scheduled to end are allowed to vote. Results from Putnam County and across Ohio will be reported after the polls close that night.
