Mercer County voters can cast an early in-person ballot this week at the Mercer County Board of Elections, 101 N. Main St., Room 107, in Celina, as early voting continues ahead of the Nov. 3 general election. The board is the county’s only early voting location.
Early in-person voting runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week, Monday through Friday, Oct. 19 to 23, under the uniform statewide schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State. Voters cast their early ballot at the board office in Celina, not at their usual precinct polling place, which opens only on Election Day.
The schedule expands in the final week. Early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, then 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, and 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the board by 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 27.
Voting continues from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 through 30, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. There is no early voting on Monday, Nov. 2.
On Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, polls across Mercer County are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at voters’ assigned precinct locations. Non-military and non-overseas absentee ballots must be received by the board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.
Mercer County voters who prefer to vote by mail can still request an absentee ballot before the Oct. 27 application deadline, and completed ballots can be returned to the board office in Celina.
The Nov. 3 ballot across Ohio includes the statewide races for governor, attorney general, auditor, secretary of state, treasurer, two seats on the Ohio Supreme Court and U.S. senator, along with the local races and issues on Mercer County ballots.
Voters with questions about registration, absentee applications or polling locations can contact the Mercer County Board of Elections in Celina or check the Ohio Secretary of State’s early voting directory before heading out.
