Day Air Credit Union has bought the former Teradata headquarters building at Austin Landing in Miamisburg for $6.05 million, giving the Dayton-area credit union a new headquarters three times the size of its current home, Credit Union Times reported.

Day Air paid that price on September 28 for the 60,000-square-foot office building, which sits on a tract of more than five acres at Austin Landing, the retail and office development in Miamisburg in the Dayton metro area. The credit union said it plans to move into the new headquarters in October 2027.

The building has been largely empty of its original tenant for years. Teradata, a data management company that was spun off from National Cash Register, employed about 300 people at the Dayton headquarters before moving its base to San Diego eight years ago.

Day Air, which reports $908.8 million in assets and 54,544 members, had long outgrown its 20,000-square-foot headquarters, President John Theobald told Credit Union Times, making do in recent years with remote work and leased space to fit its staff.

Theobald said the credit union could have moved into the Austin Landing building as-is, with little more than paint and new carpet, but plans a fuller renovation instead. “We want to liven it up to make it more vibrant, modern, collaborative,” he said, describing a workplace designed to reduce remote work and bring employees together.

Structure First of Cincinnati is serving as the credit union’s owner’s representative for the project, and CESO Inc. of Dayton is the architect for the headquarters work, according to the report.

For Miamisburg and the Austin Landing area, the purchase returns a prominent office building, vacant of a major headquarters tenant since Teradata’s departure, to daily use by a growing Ohio financial institution, with the renovation work itself bringing construction activity to the site over the coming year.

Day Air expects the move to be completed in October 2027, a timeline that gives the credit union a full year to renovate the space before staff relocate. Members will continue to use Day Air’s existing branches and services throughout the transition, which the credit union says is about workspace, not about closing locations. Until then, the credit union continues operating from its current Dayton-area headquarters while design and renovation work proceeds at Austin Landing.
