Early in-person voting for the November 3 general election runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week in Darke County, with registered voters casting ballots at the Darke County Board of Elections office at 603 Wagner Avenue in Greenville. The board, which lists regular office hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, is following the statewide early voting schedule set by the Ohio Secretary of State for the week of October 19 through October 23.
Any registered Darke County voter can vote early in person at the board office — not at a precinct polling place — and no application is needed. Voters should bring an accepted photo identification. The board can be reached at 937-548-1835 for questions about registration, sample ballots, or voting locations, and voters can also check their information through VoteOhio.gov.
The schedule expands in the final week before Election Day. Early voting is open Saturday, October 24 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., then Monday, October 26 from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Voting continues Wednesday through Friday, October 28 to 30, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, November 1 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is no early voting on Monday, November 2.
Voters who prefer to vote by mail face a firm deadline next week. Absentee ballot applications must be received by the Darke County Board of Elections by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, according to the Secretary of State’s 2026 voting schedule. Completed non-military absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, to be counted, so voters returning a ballot by mail are urged to send it well ahead of that deadline or deliver it in person to the board office.
On the November 3 ballot, Darke County voters will decide county offices and local levies and issues, along with statewide races and issues. Because precinct ballots differ, the board encourages voters to review their own precinct’s sample ballot before heading out, through the board’s voter resources or VoteOhio.gov.
Election Day itself is Tuesday, November 3, when Darke County polling places open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters who cast a ballot on Election Day must go to their assigned precinct location, which is different from the board office used for early voting. Voters who are in line when polls close at 7:30 p.m. on November 3 are permitted to vote.
For Darke County residents balancing work and family schedules, the 8-to-5 window this week and the longer evening hours next week offer several chances to vote before the Election Day rush. The next step is simple: confirm registration, review a sample ballot, bring photo identification, and head to 603 Wagner Avenue in Greenville during any posted early voting session through November 1.
