The early voting schedule expands in the final stretch before Election Day. Voters who prefer to vote by mail face two deadlines they cannot miss. Applications for an absentee ballot are due by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27. Under Senate Bill 293, non-UOCAVA absentee ballots must be received by the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3 — there is no grace period for ballots that arrive after the polls close, so voters mailing a ballot back should allow plenty of time for delivery or return it in person before the deadline.

Before heading out, voters can review what will be on their ballot. The Board of Elections website for the November 3, 2026 general election posts the candidate list, the issues list, and sample ballots, so residents can study their choices at home. Checking a sample ballot in advance is especially helpful in a general election with several offices and local questions on it.

Anyone who does not vote early or by mail can still vote in person on Election Day itself. Polls across Ashtabula County will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, at each voter’s assigned polling place. The board’s website also offers a polling-place lookup for voters who are unsure where they vote, and board staff can confirm a polling location by phone.
